Default Slam panel bolts now replaced.

I have now replaced the slam panel bolts with a set ordered from DMGRS, many thanks to DMGRS as the bolts look stunning.

This is getting very addictive Clyde and it's all your fault! Her in doors was in admiration of your engine at the Yeovil national meet and is now adamant that she wants her car to at least resemble something like yours.I fill the car up, wash and polish it, fuel it up MOT and tax it and pay for all the mod's and repairs and she thinks this is all done and paid for by the 75/ZT fairy.

Ha well back to cleaning and detailing

Steve

Sorry Steve

My wife does not realise I have to spend time making my then 75 and now my ZT-T look like it does.

It is very addictive and I am going to get to the stage where I will stop and say it is now finished. In the engine bay I am going to paint the header tank black and that should be finished, then there are some minor marks on the bodywork I would like a smart repairer to remove and the interior nothing really needs doing. Once I reach that stage I think I will call the ZT-T finished.and then it will all be about the washing and polishing of the bodywork.

Regards

Clyde

You're keeping the Tech Grey dash then? After three years of hating mine, I've decided to change it for a Rhodium one

Your engine bay looks fantastic!

I am keeping the tech grey dash, I want to keep the ZT-T as original as possible inside, due to it being one of only 35 ZT-T's built with the Green Alcantara interior.

Thanks for the comment on the engine bay, there is one last job to do and that is to paint the header tank top section black. I am hoping to get this done tomorrow, ready for the Powderham Castle car show on which I am attending on Sunday with other club members.

Hi Clyde, did you say in a previous thread that on your 75 you did not remove the header tank but masked around it before spraying, also did you use plastic primer?

Cheers, Steve

That's one of the advantages of spraying rather than replacement. It can be done with the header tank in place, so no need to disturb the cooling system. You also retain the ability to see the coolant level through the plastic lower down on the tank (needs a good torch though).

Just mask up, plastic primer, and away you go.

Cliff

Thanks Cliff, as it is a glorious day I'll make a start on the header tank and fit all the shiny screws and bolts that arrived this morning.

Hello Steve

I did spray paint the header tank on my 75. I masked everything around it I did not want to get paint on and used heatproof paint, although I am not sure if heatproof paint needs to be used as the plastic primer would not be heatproof
