Seriously Fred, I hope that you've had a safe journey home (by the time you read this) and love the car as much as we have.

We did have to give him a cup of tea (no sugar).

I'm back!
All done expeditioning.
The coach trip wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. First stop was Birmingum but when we got there there were loads of blokes walking around shouting, "We are Leicester." Fair drew a panic from some of the passengers, I can tell you. In the end we decided it was them that were lost and not us. Darn sarf wasn't as backwards as I thought it might be, but eight hot air balloons drifting towards Bristol international airport left me thinking they had a bit of catching up to do on the air travel front. When we got to Weston-super-female horse I got off the coach, walked round the front and looked down both sides, but couldn't see the Typhoon anywhere. I eventually found Tony hiding in it behind the coach ..... funny sense of humour some folk have. Had a nice cup of tea (no sugar ..... I'm sweet enough ) at Tony's. Met his better half, two lovely dogs that were very friendly and a cat that didn't want to know me, but hey, you can't win 'em all. Had to stand up to drink the tea because the coach trip had brought on a dose of numb bum syndrome. Tea drunk and paperwork completed I set off back (leaving most of my worldly wealth in the nearest petrol station) and enjoyed a great trip back. Mostly light traffic and only a few roadworks to impede my progress. After a couple of hours I stopped for a sarnie and mocha and sat in the car for half an hour or so playing with all the buttons my old Rover didn't have (I'll try to get everything back working properly tomorrow). When I fired it up to continue my journey a dirty great big bulb out warning came up on the dash saying the nearside tail light was not working so had to perform the highly delicate task of tapping it to get it going again. I got back at 11.45 and miraculously the numb bum syndrome had gone ..... ain't that summat! I thoroughly enjoyed the drive and resisted the urge to be a hooligan ..... most of the time. Anyway, it's time to think about going to bed ..... God knows how I'm going to get the Typhoon up the stairs. |
