Thats worse than porn!
Prehaps some pixies, the tooth fairy, the judderman and santa's little helpers have been working over time... Went through every chuffing folder and file to delete the nasties and was about to upload the "clean" version of the site, checked the existing site and the virus has vanished. Either the hacker felt guilty.... doubt it Kate at Netizen is working late and doing me a favor - unlikely (unless several of their sites have been hacked into so sorting asap to save face) A kind stranger on here has somehow re-tweaked? (possible without ftp details?) So now im not sure if should re-load the pages or leave alone. Ah i know i bet the hacker has spyware and has been watching my efforts to delete his work, and the spotty little *** was probably laughing his head off as what took me over an hour took him 5 minutes. |

99% of the site is flat html files so not much chance of infection there and the contact us email pages uses a proven cgi script. You can sleep well tonight (unless you start thinking about my consultancy fee for tonights risk assessment). |

If your site was cleaned without your personal intervention then it's probably the case that every site on that server was compromised and host has sorted it. You still need proper security though as it can happen any time.

No need Mick i have my special helper
How evil looking is that pixie (didnt expect to find that when typed in pixie with broom on yahoo images) i think i will sleep with one eye open tonight Will ask Netizen about security options and Rich aswell, would rather pass some business the way of a helpful forum member rather than the people who left the site wide open to virus attacks. |
