Have you checked :

Oil cooler
Metal pipes below rad
That you are not over filling header tank . (1/2 inch BELOW strengthening fins )
looks like coolant on the cooler
metal pipes seem ok
header tank was empty (car wasnt used for 24hr's)

Original pumps are good for 100k but some cheaper pattern pumps we've changed with less than 20k covers (FAI)

We've only used QH pumps (OEM spec).............till 2 weeks ago when they went bust.
Hope someone takes them over because QH parts are top quality.

It's a shame cheap low spec unbranded stuff is flooding the market putting honest companies out of business.

Ivan,

From your report, all you need is a new gasket or some sealant surely?

Yes as I said good for 100k !
MGR pumps were made by QH but half the price of Rover boxed ones !!
So I don't know where Xpart are now going to source them from?

Maybe Stu at Xpart would like to comment?

I thought about that … but as my dad always said "if in doubit renew throught out" and if I am honest might as well just get a whole new one, then it rules out seal/casting or anything else
