removal of battery
is there any way of finding the radio code as i dont have the number i would like to remove the battery to check abs ecu connectors i dont want to disable the radio as the boss will kill me if she has no music to drown me out.

You need to contact an ex Rover dealer and for a fee they can get you the code for your car. I did mine over the phone!!!!

Disconnected my battery last week ( see my previous thread ) & was not really worried about the code as more pressing matters were ongoing.
When I re-connected it the radio instantly sprang back into life! Now I wouldn't recommend that you try this without a code but it proves that all radios might not need re-coding after the battery has been off. Mine is a Harmony unit BTW. BBCATZ |

Not sure about the Harmony but if it's a Symphony you probably don't need the code - they usually just work when you power them up again.
I'd wait for confirmation from others though before disconnecting the juice jar. |

It's also worth looking at the head unit casing - you'd be amazed at the number of head units with the code written on them in felt tip pen.

mostly the felt tip pen number is the last digits of the VIN.
Mine is for sure.... |
