Default Symphony unit not mp3 cd compatible?

Hi

I made a few mp3 cd's for my 6-disc magazine today but all I get through the speakers is a horrendous din...I'm sure I didn't put any One Direction or Justin Bieber on there.

Are the units not compatible with mp3 encoded cd's? A shame if not, cos it would save me changing cd's every week.

Any suggestions pls?
Andy

The standard CD changer isnt MP3 compatible, but you can get ones these days that are. What you might be better doing is getting a GROM unit, which you plug in to the socket the Changer plugs in to instead of it. You can get thousands of tracks on a memory stick and never need to use your changer ever again.

But for a slightly greater expense get a DD unit off sean, and watch a whole new world open up for you. It also takes Micro SD card where you can fit thousands of songs.

Thanks for the answer. I'd love a dd unit, but funds wont allow right now. I'll make do for the mo with my £7 asda patch cable/cassette thingy for my Ipod touch.

Grom hunt started

convert your mp3 music files to .wav format, (its the same as the cda format you'll see if you put the cd into the computer and delve in).

Lots of free software you can download to do that.

Should work ok then (does on my high line and alpine multichanger and my 10 year old marantz cd player anyway).

Expect about 20 songs to a 700mb cdr (shop around and you can get a tower of 50 discs for very little)

Hope that helps.

I think I put a how to up somewhere (probably in the ICE section)

-- pretty sure with the grom and similar units you will loose the cd autochanger as it uses the connectors, dennison seem to do a splitter so you can use thier gateway 3 ipod interface and your autochanger - well I read it that way, not sure about switching between the two though, and the gateway isnt cheap - ideally for me I'd have the grom unit with the splitter but dont know if they are compatible --
