I'm hoping to get along one day or the other. I've had a gold resistor sitting around on the car dashboard for ages and I don't mind having a go at replacing the standard, not properly working resistor myself although it's always easier if there's someone watching who has actually done one before to give a bit of guidance. But in any event it's always good to see other 75s.

Hi Vince.
You are more than welcome and you will get the help or advice whichever you prefer, does your gold resistor already have the electric tails fitted as here below.

It makes it easier to fit in the field so to speak, link below also of what the job entails

Here is what I have- I think I bought it from DMGRS. I will have a read of the tutorial today, although it would still be good to get along to see some other cars. I'm afraid mine is probably the least interesting of the entire range, a silver diesel saloon.

Hi Vince.
Yes that is the basic gold resistor, it has not been pre-drilled to fit the holes in the lugs on the fan, it has no wiring tails to connect to the wiring on the car, you could of cause just cut the old silver one off, then solder the gold one direct to the wiring, but again i would still add heat shrink to protect the joints from the rain force through the fan blades when driving into rain.

If you do make the meet then i would take the gold resistor off you and swap it for one i have already made up, this could then befitted at the meet for you or help you to fit it which ever you decided at the time.

Thank you, that is very kind. I would hope to get along on Saturday so hopefully we can sort something out. If I am offered overtime at work on Saturday I'll make it Sunday. It would be good for somebody more knowledgeable to have a general look over the car, I've had it 10 years and plan for it to be my last car, in the last 18 months I've spent way, way more on it than its worth (well over £2,000) and I'm keen to keep it on the road as long as possible. I'll let you know on Friday which day it will be and thanks again.

Please would you add me to the list, for Sunday. It'll be the first nano-meet I've been to. I'll come in the 1.8t facelift. Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave.
I will add you to the meet, but please keep a close eye on the boards just in case due to the heat wave it could be called off, tomorrow is now to late but it's going to be an hot one, so those that are or travelling a long distance you may want to re-think 🤔 is it going to be worth it.

I intend to be there today and although I'm not a great fan of the type of temperatures being predicted for this afternoon, this is the first NANO meet I've had a chance to get along to this year, and the one I was able to get to last year was rained off so I'll just get there early and if it gets too hot I might just not stay all day.

Hi Vince.
That's fine but please be aware that we may leave early because of the weather we usually stay till about 16.00pm but i think most will be gone by 13.00pm today we can only see how we all feel, i know i am not good in hot weather at all.
