Certainly. Personally, I don't have a problem closing the boot, but I am aware of others having used the same handle as that fitted to the boot floor/carpet.

Update:

I did some other mods this past weekend, including the excellent spy hole mod. Whilst checking the boot handle, (and therefore having the boot liner off), I checked where the trinket tray could possibly be attached. Unfortunately, I was visiting the in-laws and forgot to take the trinket tray to take measurements, etc. Doh! But there is a large rectangular opening in the boot skin above the lock mechanism that an looks ideal location and should be a deep enough recess for the trinket tray to be flush with the liner. The only issue is how to secure the trinket tray to the boot skin.

The other mod I did was fit the door handle finishers and boy do they look great!

March 2008 update:

17" Meteor Alloys
Chrome Mirror Cappings
Bootlid luggage rack
Boot mounted 6 Disc CD Changer to Harmony head unit
Re-instated the Rover Badges on the C post
Union flag badges on bootlid and under each side repeater
Changed lower grille from black to silver
Front & Rear Mudflaps
2 sets of genuine Rover Mats - Carpet for the Summer and Rubber for the Winter. How sad is that!
Smiley rear No. Plate
Rover Leather gear knob with walnut top
Driver's cupholder
Walnut dash kit for A/C panel, window switches and light switch panel

And now:

Leather interior with electric front seats
Crofts Chrome door finishers
Sun Visors with illuminated mirrors

I think I'll stop for a while now...

Bit of an old post, but I did think of using the one from the tourer spare weel cover, or doesn't the tourer tailgate have a grab handle........

sorry a bit of topic.

From the man that brough us the SLE. http://www.r75-parts.de/en/

Closing the boot of the Seventyfive may be a dirty thing especially on bad and rainy days. For the saloon there doesnt exist any internal handle and even for money you cant buy this helpful accessory from Rover or any known major vendors. The boot lid handle by T.Haag is the solution. It is a simple and handy part which is installed to the boot lid and invites to close the boot leaving the fingers clean. Especially owners with Sandstone Beige interior wont miss this little piece of aluminium.
