Default Anyone want a dead tourer?

I'm not selling, but my mate at work has a 1.8 tourer with HGF. Head gasket was replaced not long ago - the full kit with mls gasket, sump ladder, everything - and has now failed again. I'm told the job was carried out by a competent mechanic who has carried out this repair many times.
It's a 52 model (think it's a Club) and is near Danbury, Essex. Has not been driven since discovery of the problem, but is still driveable at purchaser's own risk. It will be going to a breakers yard in the next week or so but he asked me if I knew anyone who could make better use of it. If anyone's interested, message me and I'll put you in touch direct.

Mmmmmmmm sounds like a low height Liner problem as the possible cause of this failure. (remember Liner Shims are available to overcome this problem). Yet, if done as said by an experienced mechanic, this check sould have been made. Failed Water Pump leading to an overheat situation maybe?
Pity that it may be going to the breakers and hope someone can step in and save it.
Regards,
Telfer.
