Yes you can but try getting one insured. The insurance companies are putting them back on the market to recoup some of their losses and then refusing to insure them.

I use Chris Knott Insurance - they had an offer on the Civinfo forum I was a member of - they beat my lowest quote on the comparison sites by £50.

You can get them on 0800 917 2274.

Customer Service has been first notch too - no silly admin fees or anything else when I switched the insurance to the 75 from my Civic.

Chris

Me neither as have run Cat D's for many years, the MGCC new safety car MGZS V6 is a cat D restored (new bumper by Browns and Gammons)

One of my friends has his written off the insurnace company paid out less 20% as a cat d car. But when you are saving 50% on price seems like a fair deal to me.

For those of you that want cheap insurance for heavily modified cars you will need to spend £45 quid from memory) on a MSA sprint license and then get compition car insurance. I insured my Q plate Renault 5 cup car fitted with william clio engine for £230 and no other insurers would touch it. Did not require no claims had to be garaged. I did the same with my Rover R6 Rally car Norwich Union wanted 1400 for it as I was using no claims on my ZT at time and a 33 I had a fit. Thats when I found compititon car insurance.
