Hi All
Thanks for the feedback - I will certainly follow up with the contacts provided. Update: I collected car from the garage today. They filled the brake reservoir and gave it a long test drive - it hasn't lost fluid since AND I drove it the 30 miles back from garage - no loss of fluid??! They have assured me that everything - bar the puzzle over the 'non brakes' & empty reservoir has been sorted - so car is in fine fettle to pass its MOT ....Just I'm worried why the brakes went soft and - upon reaching the garage no fluid was found in the reservoir but no leak could be traced. They went all over the vehicle - no trace of any leak. Head mechanic reasoned seals gone on Master Cylinder and fluid going into servo?? I have no idea. I just would have changed the whole unit if I could get hold of one, car is my pride & joy & no expense spared keeping it up to standard - but unreliable brakes certainly worry me! |
