Mine has conked out about half a dozen times since I got the car, the usual fix is take it out of the glove box give it a whack on the back and it starts working again

So, new stereo or start looking for a good used CD changer?? Or can it be fixed in a way??
Mine suffered the same problem, turned out to be a condensation on disc problem, caused by closing cover over disc cartridge.

Never had a problem since leaving the cover open.
