MAF - MOT advice
My MOT is due Saturday but I've got my MAF unplugged because I need a new one. I've yet to order one.
Will this effect the emissions test on the MOT and will I therefore fail? Didn't want to plug it back in just for the MOT but may have to. It's just awfully slow. Cheers Robson

No, it won't fail the emissions because the MAF is disconnected.
Just tuck the connector plug out of the way. I have a few customers that have been driving around with disconnected MAF's for years now (their choice not to replace) & they fly through the emissions test at MOT time. |

Last years MOT on my tourer had no advisories with my MAF unplugged.
This year I'd just fitted a new MAF so certainly no advisories this time.

Diesels don't get an emissions test at MOT it's a smoke test.
It'll pass with it unplugged it won't cashes an issue unless its smokey.

Yes, apologies about that - A smoke test it is.
Saying emissions is a just force of habit! |

It is an emissions test, just a different type of emissions test from the petrol engines - checking the opacity of the emissions as opposed to analysing them.
