The new electric kettle finally arrived this afternoon, why does the boiled water taste horrible from them when they're new! tea is virtually undrinkable, I must have boiled it 12 times this afternoon to try & get rid of that metallic taste.....and I had to watch that smart meter tablet rack up money to boot

Few years ago I picked up a Honda CB550K3, inline four cylinder with four exhausts. The exhaust turned out to be 4 into about 3½, had to replace one pipe but had to wait for a batch being made in Japan! Stripped and rebuilt the engine due to a bottom end oil leak. Spent a fortune on phone calls to breakers looking for a replacement side panel then discovered I could get a new one for twenty quid

One bike I wish I'd kept, after the rebuild I took it to the local bike shop for an MOT, boss commented he'd come across so many tired ones with rattling cam chains etc he'd forgotten they could be so quiet.

I still have my Kawasaki Z1300 Digital Fuel Injection gathering dust with only 12000 miles on the clock. A real beast but a little bit too big and heavy for me these day's .

Always liked the Z1300, you should do something with it Steve. I had a few bikes 750 and above, VFR750, CB900, ST1100 and at one point a 1500 Goldwing. Oh, at the same time as the Goldwing I had a 1972 750 Norton Commando, the refinement of the Wing contrasting with the brute force of the Commando! I couldn't start the Commando in the garage if my father's car was there, it would set the alarm off!

These are bikes I drooled over as a kid,if I ever had money to buy,and time to ride one, I would ge something like one of these. GPZ 600,CBX550 VFR750 , my mate has recently bought a 1980 Suzuki GS850, the non Katana model. Modern bikes don't interest me, a bit like modern cars, I love 70s and 80s bikes , 70s,70s and 80s cars.

The VFR750 was a great bike to frighten the cr@p out yourself with. I got flat on the tank and wound it right up one day, my bottle went before it ran out of steam . . . . with about 145mph on the clock It was supposed to be a sports tourer . . . . err no! After about 50 miles you started shuffling your bum around the seat! The CB900 was a late purchase when I tried to get back into biking a few years ago. I'd always wanted one when I was younger, got one and didn't take to it at all, unbelievably top heavy.

I used to go camping/fishing up the north west, had a towbar/trailer on the ST1100 and Goldwing. I've got photos somewhere but can't find them.
