Default Egr

Can anybody tell what the EGR valve is :shrug and where it is on the engine i have had nothing to do with the CDTI before i now bit thick. its

Standing in front and facing the car, it's the bit on the front right of the engine with the small vacuum "thingy" on it. There is a big black hose and a small vacuum hose going into the EGR. Presumably you have the engine cover removed?
