Ive got a question about these.
I see on all the originals, they have rubber bits to stop rubbing etc etc... Are the Chinese replacements identical with these bits, or are they just bare metal ? |

It doesn't damage the paintwork sliding them out though. Last edited by Dragrad; 14th February 2017 at 22:50.. |

No need for a sticky as there is already a How to.... (see post #4)
Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as threads get ‘lost’ very quickly in the General Forum.

I replaced my door finishers 2 years ago on my ZT with the help of this thread. My "new" ZT-T needed replacement so I went back to this thread discovering the pictures were missing. Bummer
So I decided to make some pictures myself and host them on my own picture gallery website making sure the pictures are available to anyone without the hassle of free hosters changing there EULA or such. So here goes: 01 - Tools Used: If you need the trim panel removal tools, look here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32865746055.html 02 - Rusty door finisher: 03 - Peel back rubber from inside door finisher: 04 - peel back full length: 05 - Outside rubber: 06 - Remove rubber from finisher: 07 - Remove finisher: 08 - Remove finisher: 09 - Remove rust if applicable: 10 - Fitting new finisher (use a lubricant for easy fitting): Refit the outside finisher and replace the cap. Clean the surface with a cloth soaked in a mild detergent. 11 - The result of your labour :-): I hope these will be of use to you.

All I have to do now is wait for it to stop raining and I’ll get on with the job! Bought a complete set of finishers off the auction site, they cleaned up like new with DA machine polisher. Only the front two have corrosion on them.
I’ll try to post some pictures before and after cleaning.

Who would have thought what was lurking below those insignificant rust spots! Haven’t done the passenger’s door yet, that looks a lot worse!
