Antifreeze Smell
Hi. About 6 months I had the thrmostat replaced by an ex-MG dealer. Now I have been using the climate more often,to clear the screen etc, once the engine is hot and I accelerate from a junction or roundabout, i get a whiff of antifreeze. I have also noticed that going round bends, the cliamte blows cold air for a second or two, untill I am back on the straight.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be. I have checked the coolant level, and it appears to be at the correct level. I have a ZT-T 180 by the way. Thanks. |

Are there any leaks in the cabin? I would flush and replace coolant and check for airlocks.

The wrong psi rating on the expanshion tank cap will allow coolent to leak make sure its the correct one 140psi or the rare 100psi on some early models |

Make sure the coolant is at the correct level.....link below with picture, as any excess will get blown out

according to the manual if its a v6 you go off the level lines on the side of the tank, not the ones inside when you remove the cap, as different engine sizes hold different amounts of coolant,

All 75's (inc V8) have the same expansion cap and radiator, so the difference in total volume of fluid is minimal.
