[QUOTE] demon-knight This is an excellent thread!
Any chance of more piccies? Sorry chaps, been a bit busy with work and have been neglecting 005 and the pictures somewhat. I'm hoping to get back out in the garage tomorrow and I'll see what I can do

OK Guys, a little update. Went up to see Corin on Saturday, WoW what an absolute Aladdins Cave! I was like a kiddie in a sweetshop, didn't know where to look first. To make things even better, as some of you are well aware, Corin is a really nice obliging chap who went out of his way to be helpful! (that's enough creeping, he'll tell me off) Anyway, with all thanks to Corin I now have some more missing jigsaw pieces AND a pair of those, highly elusive, Mk2 headlamps, (Corin also sells hens teeth and, I believe, rocking horse poo )only projectors at the mo' but as 005 is fitted with xenon level sensors and LSM I can install an aftermarket xenon kit without falling foul of the new MOT reg when it comes in to effect. I also picked up a few more much needed parts and booked some others for later. I also had the chance to meet Jake who travelled all the way down from Lincoln as a joint effort to see Corin, meet me, deliver me an electric rear blind, sat-nav trimble and the rear screen aerial amplifiers Thanks Jake, you're a star No excuses now, I'd better crack on! Hopefully I'll be in a position to post some progress by the end of next week-end

This week-ends thrilling instalment! (not that exciting really) I didn't get a whole lot done on 005 apart from fitting new riv-nuts into the chassis to take the newly sourced (thanks Corin) V8 washer bottle, and I did also strip out the dash centre panel again to fit the Mk2 MG clock (looked a bit silly, cream Mk1 Rover clock, white MG dials). Oh yes, and I stripped a 75 airbag loom and removed the rear pre-tensioner harness ready to modify 577's SRS loom fitted to 005 (the Tourer doesn't have rear pre-tensioners) I have a Mk2 saloon ecu, the stored chassis number will be wrong but I don't think it will matter, if it does I'll have a chat with Corin to see if we can change it with T4.
The rest of my week-end has been productively spent in converting 577 into a heap ready to be recycled into a new washing machine or two. Amazing just how compact a Tourer can become with just a few hours work In picture 2, 005 can just be seen in the background wearing Ray Squires nice shiny red boot-lid. One day, that too will be Le-Mans green, 'till then, as with the rest of the body panels, any colour will do!

I would be interested in knowing if T4 is able to interrogate this car as I gather that before I bought mine, he had not been able to do it - he tried. I am right am I not Corin? All sorts of minor electrical problems remain which I have not posted about and apologise for commenting as this thread is really about the excellent restoration of this heritage motor.
