I wouldn't call a seller with a 6000 & 99% score after 2 years a plonker!
He probably know's what he's doing, & as stated before many sellers increase the price temporarily, if out of stock.
It generates interest (like it has on here) and keeps the seller on the map, so to speak. All to do with publicity etc.

My selling tactics sometimes were similar back in the good old days (2005) of when I had 10 Rover 75's in at any one time!!
For example I would price a 10K 75 at 30K on a listing when it was imminently to be delivered from Auction! (obviously no one in their right mind bought at that price)
After a couple of days it would be reduced back to market value when & only when it was prep'd & ready for sale.

In that time there were so many (you cannot be serious type enquiries!!!) that they were usually sold before the listing ended!
