Default Xtrons service agents Midlands?

Does anyone know of any Xtrons service/repair centre's in the midlands?

Or even further afield.

I know Jubbs sold a lot of Xtrons units so it's likely some will have required attention by now,or will in the future.I remember him saying he had a UK repair centre

Thanks.

Anyone still in touch with Jubbarelly?

If so could you ask him the details of the UK based service centre please.

I'd prefer to use a dedicated Xtrons service centre if possible.

Well my Xtrons DD has finally failed completely after a few weeks of various faults. I've had it for 5-6 years during which time it's funtioned pretty flawlessly.I have contacted Xtrons customer services regarding UK services centres but didn't get a reply.I've also spoken to a couple of local car hi Fi specialists but none could recommend anyone interested in repairing Chinese units. It would be a shame to have to change the unit as I've been very happy with it.I know Jubbarelly (Julian) sold many Xtrons units on this and other Rover forums so mine can't be the only one requiring attention by now.I know he had a UK basedrepair centre so who are they?If anyone with an Xtrons unit has acquired service for it I would be most grateful if you could point me towards them.Thanks.

I'm amazed that these units are still being widely sold by the likes of Amazon apparently without any UK backup. There must be quite a number by now which are out of warranty and needing attention.Shame because when functioning correctly they are very good units, sound quality is excellent.Oh well I'll keep digging for a while,I miss my tunes dearly

I had a reply from Xtrons customer services stating that they didn't have parts to repair my unit.So that was that,or was it.Here's their mail.....

Sorry, our UK repair center does not have the parts for this model to replace.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

Gabby.

Being someone who doesn't mind chasing lost causes I decided to have a trawl through the Xtrons forums and various customer service threads.I came across a chap called Mario who seemed to have gone above and beyond to help out Xtrons customers.I decided to drop him a mail to see if he could help in this case. After exchanging a couple of mails with him he has offered to take a look and says he may be able to repair it for me.So i will be removing it over the weekend and posting it off to him on Monday.I've really enjoyed this unit over the last 5 years and would love to see it working again, so it's definitely worth a shot.

Here is his final mail to me....

Hi

I might be able to help you out i dont have exactly same unit, but i have similar series i may be able to use to repair your unit.

Would you like to send it here?

Kind Regards
Mario

I'm pleased to report that the unit is now re-installed,fully tested and working again .The only issue I had initially was that the steering wheel controls were not working. So back to Mario and he informed me that the whole Motherboard had been replaced and therefore the steering wheel controls would probably require Re-programming.The unit was asking me for a code for the SRC which Mario due supplied along with clear instructions for the programming procedure.I followed these carefully and Hey Presto working SRC's.The only other thing I to do was reset the iGO navigation path,(once).Sometimes a little persistance pays off.

Great news. I’ve got a unit that doesn’t work either. It’s a spare but would like it working if possible to fit into one of my other 75s
