Default Shingles Again!

Woke with a rash this morning felt a little under the weather so trotted off to the local docs to be told, shingles. So that's the third time for me know

At the moment OK ish just a bit lathargic, just wait now for the flu symptoms to start and my lovely red dots to blister, oh joy the pain can be excruciating

1st time on neck down the spine
2nd across my head, forehead and right eye (that was insufferable)
3rd across right chest shoulder and down to my right elbow - fantastic!

Hi.
Once is enough for Shingles Phil let alone three times. It can be very painful around the eye and it is quite a serious condition in the eye area.
Could be your run down, maybe over doing things.
Take it easy Phil and get well.

I was really lucky when I had it last year, it was just down my right arm from the shoulder to elbow but it didn't really hurt so I didn't even have a day off work

Off the subject of shingles, which I have had and it gave me stick right around my waist. Parker I hope you get well soon. I have at the moment got a trapped nerve in my back and sciatica from my right hip down to my knee cap. I have never experienced pain like it and have been in tears a few times.

When someone mentions Shingles, I'm transported back to 1981 and Shakin`Stevens roof...
Get well soon!

That's a real pain,
I had shingles a few years back but I'm fortunate enough to have a misus who is a nurse (now retired) one night she spotted a rash on my back and thought it could be shingles starting. The next morning she looked again and said I'd best get down to ADOC at the Ayr hospital.

When I met the doctor I said I thought I might have shingles and he looked st me oddly. I then said I'd better come clean as it was my missus who had diagnosed me. After inspection the doctor said "well you can tell your missus she is spot on". The medication I was prescribed was very expensive, sorry I can't remember the name but even with an early diagnosis and the medication I still remember that darned pain.

There is a shot you can get now but the drawback is I think you have to be over 75yrs. (I think)
