MOT snuck Up On Me
I had intended to strip the rear brakes and service them, and possibly replace the strut support bearings, "I've got another month before the MOT"....
Whoops, no I haven't - had to ring my regular MOT garage, who have always been fair, but strict. Wow, she passed, with one "heads up" on a warning light connection; brilliant, I can breathe. |

Fred, the word is sneaked. Keep American slang out of our language!

That's a shame if that's all you've got to add Simon, but in my English, snuck is the past of sneak, as in past participle - I don't have a Degree in English for nothing.

Interesting. A quick look at snuck:http://www.merriam-webster.com/words...ich-is-correct
Personally, I think snuck is a lovely expression and words flow well around it, whereas sneaked is what I call an awkward word. Sorry to dig up a dead end. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 24th September 2016 at 21:46.. |

Make sure your tires are good and that the muffler will pass the test, I would check the color of the side blinkers on the fenders, youens will be OK if you do all that.

And if anyone starts to use drug as a past tense for drag, I'm outta here.

Think sneaked it correct in British English, but language is fluid and they tend to change, merge and become accepted after a time. Personally it's not a problem that keeps me awake at night. Last edited by BigAde; 26th September 2016 at 09:12.. |

Or "dove" as in "he dove into the swimming pool". A friend who's married to an American supplied that one, I kid you not. Quote:
