At last SWMBO made her mind up.
At last SWMBO has made her mind up and decided on a 2009 Mini Clubman, anyone on here had or has one and what do you think about them?. I am so glad she dropped the Fiat 500 idea.
Cheers Tony

Just a shame that the two opening doors are on the wrong side for the UK!

had a few in the bodyshop the last couple of weeks. nothing special and overpriced if i'm honest. then again all cars are compared to an older/nice 75/ZT.

My mum has a Fiat 500, I think it is quite good.
No experience with the mini, but they seem to fetch high prices for no apparent reason. |

No experience directly but a neighbour recently got rid of her Cooper after having to shell out £600 to get her power steering fixed. But then it is a known weakness on the Mini's.
She traded it in against a near new Citroen DS3 and I have to say I prefer that in the ride, handling, looks dept. anyday.. Longevity? I'm not so sure..

We had a Cooper S (the supercharged one) for a time...
I have to say, although it was the other halves car and a bit girly I used to love driving it An absolute hoot to drive and 1 of the few cars that you can HONESTLY describe as handling like a go cart.... Had ours for 4 1/2 years and did nothing but service items... Once we have got past the Buggy and Pushchair phase then I am sure she will be nagging for another!! The reason they command such prices is simple, no matter what's happened at the end of the day they are a fun car to own, they are built by BMW and loads of people want one... All of that adds up to them holding value pretty well....

The 500's are quite reliable, the mini petrol variants suffer from sticking valves due to carbon build up and valve timing issues. All cars have their issues though
