On a good run and setting a CDT to cruise Dan, you could get 60 mpg. Worth thinking about. Even though the Suburu is a lovely motor, you would not get the same satisfaction with economy and pleasure that a CDT or CDTi would give. For economy, style and presence, the diesel wins.
All in all, hopefully things are looking up again |

glad your ok thats the main thing.
looking at it i think its done the bonnet wing and bumper and screen and air bags you may have been very lucky and not touched the inner wing

Whether you get to buy it back or not really depends on the insurers and the person you speak to.
I had a written off Rover 420SDi and managed to get it back after haggling. They charged me 10% of the written off value (£2000), so £200 plus an admin charge.

Sorry to hear that - really not good. Maybe you could buy it back, buy a second one and swap the decent bits over then sell it for spares?
I hate doing that - I get really attached to my metal boxes. Except my last Astra that is. part-ex'ed it for some great big silver diesel thing with a chrome '75' on the boot.
