These are a few shot that my wife June took with my 20D using an old EF 35-80 lens that I had on my EOS film camera.
This is the first time she has ever held a DSLR, but it’s nice to have her showing a bit of interested in our hobby instead of keep moaning about the time it takes me to get a photo!

It's the cliffs along from Kimmeridge in Dorset. They only open it up to the public at certain times, reason being there's a tank firing range nearby/

Looks like you had to get ‘Down & Dirty’ for that first shot Pete, all great captures!

Never captured anything before!!The shots were taken with my small Olympus Digital Camera,I get frusrated with it, in that it does most stuff on auto...manual mode takes ages to set up.I still use my lovely Nikon FM2 a lot but am getting pretty cheesed at the standard of D&P these days. Now is it at all possible to use my super Prime Nikon AI lenses on a digital camera? as it seems this is the way to go (digi S.L.R) but I love those lenses.P.

If you stick one on a Nikon DSLR it should work fine but you won't get any of the electonic functions - e.g. auto focus, aperture, etc.

The lenses you used with your FM2 don't have the built-in gizmos that the new Nikon lenses have.

I'm pretty sure you can use your FM2 lenses on manual but if you're in any doubt, I'd check with Nikon before buying a DSLR - tel 020 8541 4440.

Also, bear in mind - if you want pics that are equivalent to 35mm film, the only Nikon DSLR bodies that will do it are the D700 and D3. They have the full frame FX sensor.

The D300 is a good (and less expensive) alternative but it has a cropped DX sensor and will multiply the focal length of your existing lenses by a factor of 1.5 (i.e. a 50mm becomes a 75mm, a 200mm becomes a 300mm, and so on).

Hope this makes sense.
Whats your opinion of the Nikon D40X ?
