Default Rover 75 Classic Campaign Edition **SOLD**

It’s a sad day as my Mother has asked me to look into selling her Rover 75. There are several reasons why it’s time to part company but the main one is that we are not using it as much as we should and it’s hard to justify the cost of insurance, tax and servicing. As a result I have agreed to put the feelers out on the forum to see if an enthusiast may be interested in buying it. The car has huge sentimental value and we want it to go to a good home. For those with a Club Calendar the car can be seen on this month’s page (July).

The car was discussed in a previous thread (Thread Link).

We think a fair asking price is £6,000.00

Details are:
Model: Rover 75 Classic 2.0 (135 PS) CDTi Saloon Campaign Edition
Colour: Stardust silver
Interior: Black leather, ash grey carpets and smokestone trim
Factory fit options: 16 inch forked alloys
First registered: 1 July 2006
Service history: Full Service History. The car has had a 4 year (40,000 mile) service carried out by Team Valley Land Rover on 18 June 2010 (Xpart MG Rover Specialist).

MOT: 12 Months
Tax: December 2010
Current mileage: 15200 (yes very low)

Location: Ryton Tyne and Wear

Additions to standard Classic Spec
:
Electric rear windows, rear cup holders, body coloured door mirrors, 4 x grab handles, twin illuminated vanity mirrors, side head impact airbags, front seat back map pockets, folding rear seats, leather gear knob, rear parking sensors (Rover dealer fitted).

Upgrades/Modifications: Wood dash, Symphony and Alpine 6 disc CD changer (in glove box), full diamondbrite treatment, replaced instant tyre repair kit with full size alloy spare wheel and tool tray; full set of fitted floor mats, boot mounted warning triangle, new battery fitted December 2009 plus the alloys have been fully refurbished by the ‘wheel specialists’ as the original wheel finish was poor.

Other relevant details: In lovely condition, has always been garaged over night and there is not a leaf in sight near the plenums! The car has mainly been used for the odd bout of daily commuting and longer runs out at the weekend; short journeys where the engine would not have warmed up have been avoided.

I also have some other odds and ends that can be taken with the car.

Known blemishes: A few tiny (and I mean tiny) paint chips on the bonnet and bumper; a small scratch on the roof and a small patch of hazing on the RH lower chrome strip where I struggled to remove some protection wax. The interior is totally immaculate and looks like new, including the leather seats.

Caveats : I know the car is only worth what someone will pay plus I know it’s silver, not a connoisseur, 4 year old and a facelift but it’s a cracking car, smells and drives like new and will serve someone for years to come.

If we can’t find a true enthusiast to buy the car it will probably be taken off the road and stored. So if interested, or if you know someone who may be, please feel free to PM me or post up a reply.

Regards

Whats wrong with silver????

Lovely car, good luck with the sale, though I feel you may be pushed to get what you are asking, which is a real shame.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

Agreed, what is wrong with silver? As for the asking price we thought long and hard and it's a compromise between what I would consider to be giving it away and what someone who appreciates the Rover 75 might pay; given that the car will probably give years of service. Incidentally a guy at work would give me the asking price tomorrow but I know for a fact he wouldn't look after it, so he won't be getting it, hence the canvassing of club members.

That said we've had a few club members contact us already and they are not far off the mark.

Cheers

By way of an update we have had some interest but the advice would seem to be that more than £6k is a little too much for some, also we have taken on board that most club members will be happy with what they already have.

We've dropped the price to £6k and will wait until the right buyer comes along, and yes it might be a long wait!

Thanks to those who have shown an interest so far.

Regards

Good luck an ideal car if I was looking for one to cherish rather than use everyday. Lovely looking car.

Would it be possible for a Moderator to remove the words 'Possible Sale of' from the post title so that it reads 'Rover 75 Classic Campaign Edition - Only 15,200 Miles'.

Much appreciated if you can.
