Default Tourer rear lights

I just had to change a brake light bulb, the two screws that hold the brackets on, one was missing, but top bracket intact, bottom one seised in to its keep, and bracket broken. The keep, which is fixed to the bodywork is just turning when the screw is turned, is there any way to overcome this?

Default Tourer rear light screw

Hi, I have the tool to re/crimp these or replace the inserts and if you require this doing I'm down at the Whitley bay car show next week and down your neck of the woods till Tuesday, done my own tourer and seems a common fault with over tightening over the years and zero grease on the screw threads, just let me know

Remove oil or grease and drip some superglue between insert and bodywork.

I know that now Chris, as Alan told me, problem is how to remove the old one, as rivet is just turning with the screw.

I had the same problem when trying to remove the old ones to install the new ones I had bought. In the end I took the side panel off to get to it. There is a small opening that you can get some pliers in to hold the back side. A pain in you know what, but since I did mine, I have had no further issues.

Ah yes, I know where you mean now, taking the side panel off is a P I t a to start with I had to remove the other side on mine, to fit a new bleeper for the towing equipment.
