Default Rover 75 MG ZT MKII Facelift Headlight Protectors

Hi All,

As you may know these are hard to get hold of and I have been investigating the potential to get these remanufacture.

Having done some initial research, I have discovered the only way this could happen would be if the volumes were sufficiently high.

With this in mind I would be grateful if you could vote on the poll if you would like to buy these in the next 12 months.

There is no committment to buy at this stage.

Costs are likely to be £50 + Postage (Say £5) for a pair.

These are ONLY for MKII Facelift vehicles

I would certainly have two sets for my mk2's, always concerned that stones could render car off the road for want of a hard to get headlight.

Have thought about making a couple of sets out of polycarbon.

Hi there,

i did post up a thread not long ago when i was on the look out for mk1 projector headlamps i contacted DEPO (the headlamps are listed on their website) and i got an email back from them saying they are going to make all variants of 75/ZT headlamps available by June/July this year im not sure on prices but it might be worth hanging on until they are on the market to see if it viable depending on their prices

still on the search for headlamps i got the part number i was looking for and googled it and one website that came up was DEPO europe in case you dont know they make patened headlights for cars and as from my expierience working in a bodyshop they usually are of good quality, so i dropped them an email last night (very quick response) asking if they could supply me a pair and i got this is email back from them:

For Rover 75, we have below items, but all of them are under development, probably will be finished in July.
We welcome you come to ask us at that time and we will introduce you to contact our local distributor .
Sorry the incinvenience caused.

so by the sounds of it at some point this year we should have a good supply of brand new patened lamps of all types for all ZTs and 75s probably a lot cheaper than rimmers or xpart could supply brand new MGRover items, i thought id post this as i know some ppl on here are in the same position as me looking for halogen projectors and even reflector halogens or xenons which although are in good supply second hand this is not always useful as second hand parts generally dont have a warranty and a lot of insurers only fit new, this may help people like me when i had an accident in my ZT-T last year it was written off because both xenon headlamps were damaged (only the brackets) and as a result wrote my car off because new genuine ones came to best part of £1000 and there were no patented ones on the market and they wouldnt fit second hand or even repair mine

I've been talking to a DEPO distributor this afternoon, about getting R75 lights, who is getting prices from them.
I was going to post link up when I get the prices - lead times may be an issue as they ship in a container full of various lights ever 2-3 months; air freighting can get expensive.

That is interesting, be sure to post up any further info you get on this, might save a lot of trouble and aggro!

Cheers

I've had a virtually similar reply from DEPO.

My Company import a lot of lights from them (for pick up trucks & MINI), about a container full every 3 months. I'm waiting on pricing, and we will decide whether to import commercially (it's worth noting that they are looking at the full spread of lights - front & rear/ MK1 & 2/ Saloon & Tourer), or whether I just get a box put into our container and sell them privately either through here or on fleabay.

They are also looking at Xenon units - again I'm waiting a price!

Do you think they would be interested in a group buy for facelift Xenon headlamps?
