Default Unexpected item found below steering wheel

I am trying to swap steering wheels over and following Steve's normally immaculate commentary (https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=156619 I was surprised to see this phosphor bronze plate where I expected to see the big nut. It seems to be mounted on rubber legs with a selection of nuts to undo but I ain't going to start removing any without more advice. It's an 02 plate Tourer Diesel.

I think there's 3 little torx screws, don't worry, it's not connected to anything, just a weight to stop steering vibration.

Yes that is correct, if you look at the photo 27 in the link you added you will see the corresponding holes for the damper, they are or were sort after items.

Thanks Steve. Funny but my 04 diesel does not have the plate but my "new" 02 one does. But it doesn't have a CD player,TV, wood rim steering wheel but does have a FBH which looks new - first I've ever seen.

It was an item removed in Project Drive to save money from memory.
