2 Din TV Radio Units
Does anyone have any experiance with fitting one of the aftermarket 2 Din TV units (available from Ebay etc) into a 75 or ZT?
The items that I have ben looking at seem to have a lot of features including DVD, reversing camera and SatNav. Bill C |

Theres a couple of long threads on the subject, the last one was by CDTi....they should be in the ICE section.
Good luck

Hi Bill
Welcome to the forum. There is tons of reading on here on your subject of choice. Scan down the forum and you'll see various posts on the BMW E46 Bezel. The double din units don't fit right in to the gap in the dash and my own feeling is that there is a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money needed to achieve this end goal. I'm currently looking to change my system and have gone down the route of getting a single din fascia adaptor (ebay have them come up regularly or Kenwood do a not bad one) and installing a single din dvd, mp3 bluetooth, TV system. I got it on ebay for £110 all in and hopefully will have it installed by the weekend. Use the search facility to find threads from a few months back if you don't have any joy with the recent stuff. As Bluey9 said, the first thing you will need is the BMW double din fascia/bezel: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=11581
Once you get that sorted, check that the double din unit you wish to buy is not too deep for the 75/ZT. This is the DD HU that I fitted:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yQOatOoRNI Further info here:http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=10026

In addition, once you have it, you can change head units as you wish (assuming they are the same size). |

Good to see another person from Bournemouth here!
I've fitted a double din in my 75. There are several tricky bits to this. The facia is the biggest problem. If you want to try and make you're own then this may be useful http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...p?t=508&page=5 If you want to watch tv then make sure it comes with a signal amp, good aerials or a digital box. The aerials need to be well located and certain window tints can block AM signals (so I've been told).

Thanks for the responses. I quite like the look of the TomTom Duo. The replacement facia seems to be the biggest problem with all the instalations.
