Ah so I can move the white box? or remove maybe, and the 2 plugs become redundant after removing them from the 17 pin connector.

As Greeners has mentioned, you should find two other ISO connectors tucked down near the ashtray.

A 2001 model will be a BMW 17 pin...If you need ISO connections you'll need an adaptor lead

The price is erratic seems it stays around £185, drops to £165, and the lowest since the £25 deal has been £112.00.

Will it ever get repeated? lets all hope so...

I've now finished my install, I have located the GPS aerial on the roof under the roof lining, the cable is plenty long enough. SWMBO is happy, as I've not spent hundreds, she still cant believe I paid just £25 for a £270 android unit.

Where did you runn the lead to reach the roof for the GPS?

I'm almost done just waiting for the aerial to turn up.

Sorted out the SWC's and I'm a very happy bunny.

Very impressed with sound but can't get used to jelly bean after using lollipop.

So as i understand it I need to install the sat nav software on internal storage as it won't run from SD. Have I got that right? Never been good with technology. But I can put the maps on the SD card

Somebody show me an upgrade path!!!!

You can run the GPS cable from behind the head-unit, down along under the glove-box, and up along the door rubber (pull the door rubber off to tuck cable behind).

Gently pull the A pillar trim partly off and run the cable along the edge between the trim and door rubber, then place the magnetic aerial under the roof lining between the roof handle and sun-visor (there is enough room to let it sit nice and snug).

Some GPS apps can be moved to SD card, maps are also stored on SD card for off-line use.

You can set the GPS path by selecting 'Setting', and then 'General' and then 'Navi Application' then select the chosen Navi app.

Can I ask which facia you used, as it looks to fit really closely to the unit?
