This is Gofer, my neighbour's cat. I had the pleasure of looking after him over Christmas.

Good evenin all, Phil. She's hilarious to watch & full of mischief, she has a favourite toy a little fishing rod with a bunch of feathers on the end, she'll carry that to wherever I am in in the house in her mouth for me to play with her Ninja claws cut, She sits perfectly still for the vet, maybe I should get a vets uniform & put her on the ironing table

Lamb shank in minted sauce with spuds.carrots, cabbage & roasted parsnips for tea.

That sounds a really nice thing to do Phil.

I'm sure it will be a wonderful celebration and a lovely way to bring you all together

It is doable in one day, but you will be wrecked the day after, and not feel like doing anything. If its any use, there is a cheap hotel down the road from me, that does b and b, pub next door for food, pleasant riverside location, and we are about 2.5- 3 hours from Edinburgh depending on which route you take, and the amount of traffic on route. Bob stays there regular when in this neck of the woods, or on route to or from Scotland.

Furthest I drove in one go was here to North Walsham in Norfolk, on a motorbike but I was younger and dafter then. If you straighten the swing east its probably about the same distance as London. I went there to get a towbar fitted to my motorbike, had to custom make it as it was a new model and they couldn't supply "off the shelf".

What always stuck in my mind was going down the M1 and coming up behind a 2CV doing about 80mph, you could hear the valves bouncing

Evening all, been busy today, planting some bulbs and trying to freshen up paint on garden bench, after 3 coats of paint not looking too good so got some paint stripper to get back to bare wood,at the moment bench has got that distressed look. Would have been easier to buy a new bench.
In answer to earlier question i don't work, done so for 47yrs retired 10 years ago. What i have learned since retirement, if wife asks what are you doing today, never say nothing.
