Help on replacing the retro satnav (Alpine YIE100011PUY)
Hi,
I bought myself a new modern 2DIN satnav system, a BMW2ISO connector and BMW e46 frame to be fitted in my Rover 75. So i started to remove the original satnav and to my great surprise the connectors are very different then mentioned on this forum. My new satnav has a standard ISO connectors but in the Rover there are two small connectors in the satnav (small 12 pins blue and white connectors) + a connector for the steeringwheel control. Does anybody know if there is a harnass or connector i can use to plug into the exixting connecors and have a normal ISO that i can fit into my new satnav? Any info on the wires or pin layout of this type op radio would really help. I would rather not cut the existing wires and mess things up but if there is no possible harnass to fit in i think i' ll have to. I cannot find any info on this system. It is an Alpine YIE100011PUY See attached photos Thanks in advance! Steven, The Netherlands Rover 75 2.5 v6 Automatic, 2000 |

The picture below show plug CO 981 you will have to find this plug located
down the left side of the dash. Unplug the Hi Line system and you will have to buy a lead that will convert from the BMW plug to ISO connectors. Shown in this thread.. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=18173 Then you will be able to connect your new unit.. I know the "how to" is for a Harmony/Symphony but the same BMW plug is used in your system.. Then you will have to extend the rear screen aerial from the boot to behind the dashboard. Dave T |

Co 981
Thanks for your reply Duotone!
So if i understand correctly, the CO 981 is actually in my car, just have to find it somewhere in my dashboard. I can see that the wiring from the unit is indeed going down on the left side to somewhere but i cannot reach/see what is below. It's going underneath the airco unit. I guess i will have to dismantle the console to see it right? I already bought a BMW to ISO converter as shown in picture. |

If you remove the aircon panel you should be able to find the BMW plug CO981
on the left side or maybe a bit further down towards the ashtray unit.. Dave T |

If you mean the Blue & White connectors, they are for the High Line head unit, they are not stereo connectors.
As posts above, you will need to find the CO981 connector behind the ashtray unit and then use a BMW to ISO lead for the stereo. |

You need to find the 17 pin BMW connector behind the ashtray unit and replace the existing satnav lead that is plugged into it, with a BMW to ISO adapter lead. |
