CCTV recommendations
I've had a few cheap Amazon cameras for a little while to keep an eye on our bunnies but I'm now looking to upgrade to a better system.
I was looking at Hikvision setup but on there website there approved sellers only deal with trade installers according to there websites so not much use to me. There's a few setups on Amazon etc but not sure what's best make worst make etc any members have a system they can recommend. I'm looking for 4 cameras, wired setup,1080hd viewing or at least a decent picture quality.

Sorry , I only just saw this post as I dont normally read the secton sinceethere are always sooo many 'techie folk' giving help on the forums.
CCTV on a big scale is the mainstay of my job and I can safely say whoever pointed you to HIK Vision pointed you in the correct direction. You can do no better for the money and despite beinga 'Chinese manufacturer' they are fast becoming the lead name in the mid price bracket. If you want any specific help re choosing or to know where I get mine ( an E Bay seller but he has been reliable) by all means P.M me. Please please only go for an IP ( digital to some ) set up with an NVR as we are in the 21st centry Cheers Mas

maybe a bit late- but I have a Swann 4 camera system on the house, works well with good definition - and the app works well to view remotely if you have an Android phone, its doesn't work at all with any windows phone below Windows 8.1

I have a sentient system from maplins. Works well but they do seem to go obsolete very fast. Found it difficult to find compatible cameras when i wanted to extend it from the supplied 4 cameras. It can take up to 8.

if infra red I think you will need to be careful of what it can see. If for example it is looking through a window, its fine in the day but in the dark the infra red may bounce off the window and blind the camera. Same goes for fitting so the view is parallel to a wall where the wall is in vision, the infra red bounces off the wall at night
