Default Soon to inherit a ZT-T

Good morning all,

Apols if i'm in the wrong section but i thought i'd stick with my own before heading out to the main forums. My name is Garrett and i live up on the north coast. I'm soon to inherit my brothers ZT-T as i've a new job in Dublin and need something with longer legs for the journey up and down. I've been a fan of his car and looking forward to getting my hands on it.

The car is currently in Scotland and SORN'd as the car an accident. From what i can learn, the car hit diesel at a roundabout and buried itself in the gorse. The only way the RAC could get the car released was by sawing off a chunk of that hefty front bumper. The car was driven home and parked up. We are going to tax the car next week and i'm going to bring her to her new home.

Front new bumper, new under tray and before it crashed, the gear stick was sticking in gear sometimes in traffic. The master cylinder was replaced but that only helped a little.

So, i've looked about and cant't get a price for a new front bumper, i just want to budget. Looking forward to getting the car and maybe seeing a few of you guys out on the road!

good morning garrett

welcome to the mad world of the rover/mg club

we have a wealth of info on here and the lads are very nice too,

you could try a scrap yard near you or post a wanted thread for your bumper,

you will find it cheaper with a member as we don't rip anybody off and its good to see your fixing the car

well done and good luck

£75 i can live with..hopefully thats all it needs. Well, and a new under tray. There are a couple of recommended mechanics in Dublin and as thats where i'll be during the week, it will be easier to get the work done there. I'd say the parts will have to come from the mainland UK from what research is telling me.

Welcome. Firstly, a good squirt of WD40 into the gear selector makes a huge difference, lol. Also silly things like gear box mounts that kinda stuff can effect the smoothness of changes.

Have you got the car yet?

Quick update and request for help. The car is in Inverurie, north of aberdeen. My brother is worried that it may not make the journey to the ferry and thus home to me. Is there anyone recommended that could lift the car and check that all is well underneath? The car has not been run since the crash. Best forum to post this request to? Maybe pop something into the Scotish users group?
