I can fully understand that Jeff. When my wife goes to the Vets to pay a bill for stuff done to the horse they bring out cats and kittens for Den to see in the hope that she will take home another. We've already had 3 from them, 2 from CPL and 1 from Blue Cross. You would not believe the cost of the pet insurance each month.

.....and they say our cars are expensive to run
It is not cheap pet ownership, I guess that's why we are seeing more and more puddy tats handed in to the rescue

Exactly right. If insurance was more affordable then there would be less unwanted pets. Our oldest cat Smokey is 18 and has numerous problems and is one 4 different tablets a day and some of those are expensive and we pay MoreThan £52.00 per month for her alone. We dont think twice about paying it as she is part of the family but it is not cheap.

I sometimes wonder if people realise the cost involvement in having pets.
Just like children, if you can't afford their care and welfare should you really be having them.
There is no state 'pot' to pay for them unlike kids

A few people get upset when they find out that the adoption process is quite involved and does ask questions of the persons suitability to home a cat!
There are very good reasons for this though and it is the charities duty of care and responsibility to that animals continued welfare.

I agree whole heartedly. At the end of the day it is the wellbeing of the Cat or Dog that is at stake. Must be why we have so many.

Instead of paying for insurance, why not put the money away each month in an isa or similar, if (Hopefully) Nothing happens you have a nice purse to collect

Hope they all find new homes soon!

How is Toca and Tilly's mum doing with the kittens she has adopted, Well I hope
