Coolant leak...in the car

Whilst cheerfully removing all the carpets from my V8 due to an undiagnosed sunroof drain tube leak, I discover that pink coolant has been leaking into the car on the rh side of the drivers footwell. At first it looked like the water pipes on the t-connectors in that region were the problem, but it would appear the coolant is leaking down on to them. Has any one got some ideas to chuck at me - I'm guess it's going to have to be a specialist job to fix it.

Strip the plenum out under the bonnet and check in there first

It's probably the three way valve leaking and filling up the plenum allowing it to seep into the cabin. It lives by the pollen filter.

If it has gone you'll need a "Black Olive" replacement, plenty of info on two-sixties.com

You know how much I'd love it to be something simple like that...? haha How easy is this job to do at home?

I would be looking at the heater distribution valve leaking, which is situated on the R/H side of the heater unit ie to the left and level with the clutch pedal, quite difficult to see, will require the lower panel drivers side to be removed to view. If it is leaking I think the dash will require stripping to access it.
Or maybe a leaking pipe from this valve, some people have replaced this valve with a copper 15mm Tee fitting.

And you would be right! That valve had gone, and I've just received a new one. You can get it out without taking out the dash. You will have to remove the drivers seat and the centre consul. Then you can lie on your back in the car to get to the area in question. You'll also need a set of hose spring pliers to get the hoses off.

That's the way to do it...

Ratty, Well done the pic shows your enthusiasm, your the first I know who has done it that way, so you have removed the complete valve and replaced it. having not seen the valve myself is it similar to the one in the plenum or have you a picture of the faulty one.
