Default Lights-Why??

looking for decent non-LED side light and found these.

Aside from the legal point of view, why, just why.

Surely the remote battery must cost that much.

Feature:
Super brightness with the best qualified 5050 SMD LED.
Low temperature, low power consumption & lasts up to 50k hours.
With a wireless remote control, it is possible to set the light color to be Red,green, blue, white and so on.
The brightness is adjustable, with two buttons on the controller, you just have to press the button to turn up or turn down the brightness.
Four different lighting modes:flash mode, strobe mode, fade and smooth mode
1. Flash mode: Colorful dazzling changes
2.Strobe mode:Colorful gradual changes
3. Fade mode: Colorful with dazzling changes and fade in and out
4.Smooth mode:Flashing between red and blue

Oh, you're not likely to get stopped by Police at all with them fitted.

Should state fits any small hatchback with a large bore exhaust.

I have something similar on my caravan, all controlled by one of those remote controls.

The only real issues with them (apart from longevity) is going to be flashing lights (illegal except indicators and indicators used as hazard lights) and showing a red light (illegal to show a red light to the front of a vehicle). Showing blue is fine (as is any other colour except red) provided it isn't flashing: flashing blue lights reserved for emergency services + flashing lights illegal except for indicators (which must be amber). Both the strobing and flashing modes would be illegal, even changing colour on the fade mode probably counts as flashing different colours.

As to the why? - well some people just can't make their mind up - or like to change it regularly innit?

Should add that there'd be one other issue... if they're similar to the lighting strips you get. correct that - two issues.
  1. The remote is infra red so you need to be out of the car to work the remote.
  2. The remote is infra red - and not that picky about the signal it receives so you might start off with them a nice shade of neon blue but end up with them flashing red at your destination.... Even the tv remote can make mine change colour / flicker / turn off

Don't forget it will be under 1200cc as well...

I suppose if they make them, someone will buy them.
