Looks identical to the 75 one, and no clip in sight

Well personally I'd be looking at the coolant sensor first?

hi,
the filter kit i posted the link to did fit.
i put a light smear of vaseline on the seals and it went together no problem.
i bought a spare n/s tank unit sender for when i do my faulty gauge just incase i needed it.
it could be that the genuine bmw mini one might have bigger seals?

The cap is different, note the green part, so the module does have different features. When this redesign was being done, maybe BMW improved the locking of the two halves. There's never been a mention of the need for a FOC as far as my MINI reading goes. A thicker O-ring would be a logical improvement because the MGR one will distort if you even look at it the wrong way.

Me too ! if it runs okay when warm then it must have fuel pressure. If the temp sensor thinks the engine is warm when trying to start from cold it won't enrich the fuel. In other words it's like trying to start a cold engine without pulling out the choke as we old uns remember.

You need to put the Fuel in the pump side John not the filter side, when the tank gets that low, all the fuel ends up on the filter side and there is nothing for the pump to pick up
