Default Garden birds 18/04/17

with it being a bit brighter today i thought i'd have a go at some bird photography in the garden.
Here are the results:-

Nice colours and feather details. Catching the reflection of light in the eyes is never an easy task. You have done well on all counts to get the main details in of these beautiful looking little birds. Thank you for sharing Apologies, I have run out of the thanks quota.

What camera and lens were you using if I may ask?

Great shots. I like to place a stick near the bird feeders and then photograph the bird on the stick.(without the feeders in shot) It looks a little more natural that way but photographing on the feeders is very popular.

That's a very good point you made Paul. Thank you

By coincidence, I also have placed twigs at different heights above our home made bird table and allowed a section of a hedge to grow wild around around and above the table, creating a bird grotto. The twigs also helps the birds strategically, hop from one twig to the other, checking to see if one of the cats is going to be there or not.

Another tip I just remembered, is to leave out a big sausage on the grass, for a bird of prey to swoop in and take

Thank you Mick. You have a great camera and versatile lens, perfect for wildlife photography.

p.s different bird feeds, will bring different birds.

Here is a shot of our bird grotto. Visitors include Finches, Weavers, Gregarious birds, Ring-necked Doves and Robins.
