Default Duxford.........What a mess!

Went to the Duxford meet today arrived around 9.55 , gates opened at 9.30 , 11.15 still no where near the pay booths , there was what looked like 8-10 rows of cars with about 20-30 cars in each row just not moving we did eventually move about 30 feet then they started moving other rows of cars so we were back to waiting again , cars that arrived after us were being let in before us so with the prospect of another hours wait myself and 2 others did a u turn and headed home , to say it was poorly organised is an understatement I will be in touch with Duxford first thing Tuesday morning and I wont be the only one lots of unhappy punters there today a real shame its such a great venue to...

I sent them (Duxford) an email saying exactly what i thought.

We have just got back - we arrived late (1230), so there was no queue and we went straight in. The marshalls did not seem to know where the 75/ZT club stand was, so after a bit of driving around we spotted some 75s near the top of the field and parked up. Saw Phil-T4 and Beejay (who told me he queued for over an hour to get in).

It was very windy, and most of the cars there were fairly modern classics- loads of BMWs and Mercedes, American muscle cars and even Smart cars. Not really my cup of tea, and I don't think we'll be going again.

Nice to see Phil-T4 there and on the road to recovery

Well, I was one of the ones that turned around too. Very disappointed in Duxford. Waste of petrol, yes...But blew the cobwebs out the Garnet and gave it a good run. Didnt miss a beat

I arrived and joined the queue at 10.20. As I was the first car in my row, I had a moving motor show to view without the walk later. Paid and entered at 11.25, and the marshal knew exactly where we were supposed to be. Talking to many the problem was their stupid odd price which meant few had the correct money at the pay booths - I did, and always do, so faults on both sides.

I agree that there was far too much modern rubbish around, so did more viewing of the Museum itself, although I have visited a number of times before, and at least kept out of the wretched wind!

All in all, still an enjoyable day, but would go to an alternative show if there was one on the same day.

Nothing more anger inducing then people arriving after you getting in before you. Goes against all sense of British fair play that most of us who understand the niceties of queuing expect.

Grrrrrrrr! And I wasn't even there! I'm annoyed on your behalf!
