Default Heater flap?

Hi,just a quick ask,on my pre face lift diesel even with the heater control turned off I get the warm air coming up the front interior windscreen vents, cannot turn it off either, before I start stripping the heater panels off does anyone know which heater flap control, motor assembly would need changing, hoping it might just be a loose connection but would like a spare on hand if required while panels are off.Regards Ry..

Ry; just to clarify, which control are you talking about? Do you have automatic air conditioning or manual?

Hi Simon, apologies, it has automatic air conditioning.I cannot stop warm air coming from the windscreen vent when the car is on the move, seems like a control flap is not closing or diverting the warm air.Even in cold weather although it is not gusting out it does dry ones eyes out!Rest of the heating is ok just this flow to the windscreen. My air con is not fully cold but that is due to the usual worn/missing cooling vanes,i shall be replacing that before having it regassed.Regards Ry....

Are you turning the heating controls down to low before turning off the heating, as I believe the flaps may stay wherever they were when the heating was turned off. So if the heater flaps are set to warm the car when the heaters are turned off, they will allow air to pass through the heaters still.
