Default Parking sensor connector: separate?

OK I give up. Am trying to cure continuous beep on reversing sensor - bumper off (Tourer) want to clean contacts on the connector but cannot for the life of me separate this connector. Any ideas most welcome, thanks.

Sometimes squeezing the release clip with a pair of pliers rather than your fingers gives the millimeter of extra clearance required to release it. If you've already tried that, a squirt of WD40 and bit of time for it to work its way between the two connectors might do the trick. Give it a good clean out with electrical contact cleaner afterwards.

Perhaps get some electrical contact cleaner and clean it off as much as possible. If the plug is caked in silt then pushing down the release tab might not allow it to release.

New plug housings are available from here. 14 Way Sumitomo HW Series Connector Grey Male / Female

As above clean the connector spray contact cleaner, not WD40 squeeze tang then use a small screwdriver in the slot to help open the plug.

Many thanks again Steve: what would we do without you? If this doesn't Stop The Beep I know I've got to delve into the boot and look at the module. MOT tomorrow.
