radio without code
Hi, i recently bought a 2005 tourer and the radio did not come with the security code. It works at the moment as the code is in it but I am concerned that when it is serviced and the battery is disconnected that I will not be able to get it working. Any idea how to retrieve the code, cheers

Welcome along...
If you take your registration document to your local dealer, they should be able to provide you the code free of charge. Failing that you could try one of the ebay traders that offer the code for about a fiver.

In many cases the radio code has been scratched onto the body of the unit or has a label attached, worth extracting it from the centre console to check.

Just a thought, which head unit have you got as it may not be coded as you've got an 05 car

It will be a VDO I would've thought.
I had a CD413X and that was coded. Flashed up code before going into the radio... IMO just replace it with another radio... |

Yes it is the cd413x and it flashes up code when I switch on ignition. Not impressed with sound from it though ( also can't seem to get rds to work, only fm frequency is displayed and not channel name), my old saab 900 had a much better stereo. Anybody recommend a new one. I would be after a type with single cd and also ipod connectivity, cheers

I wanted the OE look so bought a Symphony. Agreed on the quality on the CD413x and the RDS problems. All in all one of the worst ICE systems I have ever had on any of my cars. The old Audioline I had on my first Metro was a lot better! |
