Default cd413x

Hi.

i have a cd413x in my '05 75. The right hand speakers intermittently go off when I play cd's, but it never happens when the radio is on. I assume it is a faulty connection internally, as it often happens when turning a corner or on bumpy roads. the only way to bring the speakers back to full stereo is to turn the unit off and back on again.

Is this likely to be a repairable fault, or do I look at replacing the unit?

Any help gratefully appreciated,

Many thanks

Hi Mark and welcome to the forums.

I think all the ICE guys will be tucked up in bed at this time of night so you may have to wait a bit later to get some help.

In the mean time have a good read around the forums as there loads to read about.

Possible dodgy plugs on changer lead. Try unplugging at each end then plug them back in.

If that fails I'm sure another member will be along shortly

Default Cd413x

If you have a seperate 6 disc changer, then the fault sounds like a faulty connection betwen the radio and the changer.
If there is no 6 disc changer and the radio part shows no fault, then the problem is internal to the radio.

The VDO CD413X is easily replaced by aftermarket sets, but if you want the steering wheel controls to work you with have to replace with the same radio or get a interface unit.
This radio is a direct replacement.

You could replace with a Symphony and 6 disc changer setup.

The changers are readily available, usually on Ebay.

Thanks guys. This is a self contained single cd unit with no separate cd changer.

TBH I had one and IMO it's NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-...

It's stuck in the boot because I have a Symphony now with a CD changer.

For the price I paid for the original look (the symphony is one of the original fit R75 headunits) you could get a good quality single cd unit with a new facia adaptor.
