Default My latest head unit project

Just picked this up from my work staff sale for £30

It's an IKASU DVD player with Mp3 with 3.5 inch screen.

It plays DVD, VCD, Mp4, Mp3, WMA and picture CD.

Also has 2 AV outputs, so I'll be putting my 8 inch fold down screen to use...Finally.

It also has an AV input so I will be adding a DVB tuner.

Need to modify the fascia panel as the Head unit is a little deeper than a single DIN, should be interesting....lol

Unknown timescale but I will keep you all posted with progress.

I had a similar unit installed on my 75, and what a pain it was to install.

This is not me by the way, I wouldn't be seen dead in blue trousers

Just finished reading the manual....

It also has Backsight inputs
So now this project will include a rear view camera.

Good job I brought a new Dual Digital video camera too, it will be one big How-to.....lol

May this unit be controlled from steering wheel?

Well I fitted it this evening, realized that I need the aerial adapter, so it's a trip to the local Auto electricians when I am next off work....

I had to make a new loom from a lone ISO plug, so popped to halfrauds who were asking nearly £14 , I popped to my local car & commercial shop and got one for £4.

Not yet converted the fascia, so the HU still sits proud, will attempt to sort this on Sunday.
This bit of kit has made me more than happy, I can't wait to finish this little project

Only fitted the Head unit to make sure it works. It was a 10 minute job.
It works like the mutts nutts, so I will pull it out and start again to show you hows I'm doing it, plus I need to do a bit of cutting (plastic melting )

Will be posting progress of the 8 inch flip down screen soon, and then eventually a few more monitors like a Rear view mirror monitor, found one a while back but can't remember where.

Awaiting delivery of a DVB tuner, and will be buying a hard drive (500gb) to store films, music & music videos.
