Default CD Changer in the Boot

Hi, folks. Did anyone install a cd-changer in the boot himself? Is it hard to do by-yourself or it is better to arrange professionals to do it?

Yes, see here for full details

You will see that David (Greeners) swapped the brackets around and fitted the cd player below the parcel shelf. I made use of some old brackets and fabricated a fitting on the right hand side of the boot.

Thanks a lot, Neil. Do you know is it hard to stretch the cable from the boot to the HU? As far as i understand it it will be necessary to remove some parts of interior. Many thanks,

Regards,
Andrey

I fed the cable down the driver's side sill. I had to remove the panel below the steering wheel, the side panel that includes the bonnet and boot switches, the plastic trim below the doors the covers the carpet edge (to lift back the carpet) and the bottom trim to the B pillar.
It also helps to unclip the rear seat cushion in order to feed the wires through.
You will find an existing harness under the carpet running along the sill to the boot, just follow it

Alongside the front door

Under the back seat

Installed

having done it on my previous ZT, and fed an extension cable to the front of the car- I was told by Keith that power, ground and K bus were available in the boot, and the audio signal cables could be fed to the radio unit in the boot- which would make the job easier still.
