Default Open ended ratchets-any good?

Discovered i need to replace a front drop link. I fitted it only 2 years ago while the strut was on the bench so didnt cut off the top few threads to allow use of a ratchet ring spanner.

Came across these. Anyone know if they are any good?

I've not tried the ebay ones but have you considered these:

Halfrauds

Much as it pains me to recommend Halfords the lifetime guarantee seems like it could come in handy. Another member might know more about the long term quality of them?

I have a set I bought in Canada last year, they do work but you cant apply lots of pressure as there is a little play in the device. Ideally you would want both metric and imperial and see which fits the best.

There was a set for sale at the Classic car show last year and they had on some they were both metric and imperial in the same spanner. Yes I know 9/16 is close to 14mm but not close enough if it is tight.

These are just a standard open-ended spanner with a ratchet at the ring end.
The OP is considering spanners with the ratchet effect at the open end too.

The problem with these type of spanners is that they would probably be ok for something that was already loosened off & I would imagine not too tight on the remaining thread.

Thats very helpful. I had been over thinking the problem that i couldnt get a flare spanner over the nut, but of course i will be able to get it over the stud. Thats the great benefit of the club, always someone who's already solved the problem.
