Just a quicky !

Would the "newer" style wing mirrors be a straight swap to replace the bullet style?

AFAIK Yes as long as you are replacing the complete unit. Parts are not interchangeable.
Wait for a double check before purchasing, my memory is not always 100%

Yes the newer ones will replace the older ones, but the mirror backs will not swap over.
