I though it was dependant on the radio that was fitted.
Easy check, just pop out the plastic piece under the eyebrow and look for the IR. If you had the console out it could be the IR was overlooked and is hanging behind the console. Lee.

Don't have a picture, but I'd describe it as an oblong led. Roughly 10mm long and 5mm wide. If it's there, removing the stereo and having a look at the radio loom with a torch should reveal it.
